Polycarbonate Geodesic Dome Models

The Luxury Aura Dome™ with Glass Door and the Aura QUAD™ are the two primary polycarbonate dome types. The Luxury Aura Dome™ is available from Ø2.5m to Ø15m with a tempered glass door and stainless steel door jamb as standard. The Aura QUAD™ uses an airtight panel system with no gaps between panels which provides better insulation especially in colder climates. The Aura Bubble™ Dome offers a taller profile relative to its diameter, providing more interior headroom. Motorized Retractable Enclosure domes available from Ø4.5m to Ø12m open 30% of the facade with an electric motor and are suited to dining and pool enclosure applications.

Polycarbonate Panels

Polycarbonate panels are available in transparent, semi-transparent, and digitally printed finishes. Transparent panels give a 360° unobstructed view and are the standard option across all dome sizes. Semi-transparent options combine clear polycarbonate with opal, mirror, digital print, blackout panels, which provide shade and privacy.

Digital print panels apply a custom image or pattern directly to the polycarbonate surface for branded or decorative installations. All polycarbonate carries a 25+ year UV-resistant service life.

FAQ

What is a polycarbonate geodesic dome?

A polycarbonate geodesic dome is a frameless structural dome built from interlocking polycarbonate panels. Unlike glass domes, polycarbonate is significantly lighter, shatter-resistant, and faster to self-assemble.

How long does a polycarbonate dome last?

Polycarbonate panels carry a 25+ year UV-resistant service life and lose up to 1% transparency per year depending on sun exposure.

Can polycarbonate domes be heated and cooled?

Yes. IR heaters are recommended for winter, they heat surfaces and people rather than air, making them efficient in the dome's open geometry. Air conditioning units work for summer cooling. For larger domes (Ø8m and above), a professional AC system may be needed.

Do polycarbonate domes need a foundation?

No. The dome anchors to an existing wooden deck with wood screws, to concrete with anchors, or can be ballasted where direct fixing is not possible.
