FAQ

What makes a geodesic dome insulated?

Insulated domes use either PIR insulated PVC panels or double-pane glass to create a thermal barrier between the interior and exterior.

What is the difference between semi-permanent and permanent insulated domes?

Semi-permanent domes are designed to be relocated or removed while permanent domes are engineered as fixed structures.

Which insulated dome is best for a glamping business?

The Alpine Hut Insulated Dome suits cold-climate glamping sites where thermal performance and cost efficiency are the priority.

Can insulated domes be used in extreme cold?

Yes. Our dome structures are designed and tested for temperatures from -40°C to +80°C. The Alpine Hut PVC range is designed for use in extreme temperatures.

Do insulated domes require planning permission?
