Transparent Bar Dome in an Old Castle Hotel
Meldrum House Country Hotel in Scotland hosts Aura Domes of 3.6, 4.5 and 5-meter diameter allow to accommodate from 4 to 12 guests for a luxurious dining experiences.

Custom 7-layer Insulated Glamping Domes
Located in Les Orres, France, 700 m from Preclaux Chairlift, Alpine Cocoon is a newly developed property providing accommodation, ski-to-door access, and a terrace.
The Challenge was to design and develop the insulated dome envelope suitable for all-year-round use in the mountains with temperature variations, high loads of rain and snow.
We developed a custom 7-layer insulated envelope to extract moisture from the envelope and the inside of the dome. This prevents condensation at the area of the panoramic window to avoid moisture on the oak struts of the frame.
The panoramic window oak struts are made with inclusive cut polycarbonate stripes that adjoin with the window to avoid condensation and moisture rest on the wood.

How long does the AURA Dome last?
Polycarbonate is a long-lasting façade UV-resistant material. Service life is 25+ years. Depending on your location and the amount of sunlight, transparent monolithic polycarbonate loses up to 1% of its transparency per year.
What weather conditions is the Aura dome resistant to?
Aura Dome is resistant to snow, rain, and wind. Aura Dome's strongest models can withstand the most extreme weather conditions. Aura Dome can be used in all seasons and all climate zones.
What is the difference between LIGHT, STANDARD, PRO, ULTRA, and EXTREME models?
AURA Dome LIGHT – pavilion with large segments. Withstands minimal snow and wind. It can be used all year round in Southern countries with no snow. Snow resistant up to 0.5 kN, winds up to 31 m/s. Quick to assemble due to having large segments and fewer bolts. Due to the short installing time, it is suitable for short-term events.
AURA Dome STANDARD – pavilion with medium-sized segments. Resistant to snow and wind, it can be used all year round in 90% of countries worldwide. Snow resistant up to 1.6 kN, winds up to 34 m/s. Due to smaller segments and more bolts, assembly takes a third longer than EVENT models. The polycarbonate is thicker than the EVENT models.
AURA Dome strong models PRO, EXTREME, ULTRA – pavilion with smaller and thicker segments. Highly resistant to snow and wind. Vandal-resistant. Technological equipment can be added. Suitable for Northern countries or snowy mountains. Snow is immune from 2.2 kN, and wind from 38 m/s. Assembly takes twice as long as EVENT models due to smaller segments and more and thicker bolts. The polycarbonate plates are wider than in the LIGHT and STANDARD models.
What provides strength for AURA technology domes?
There are 3 factors that ensure the strength of the Aura dome:
1. Panel thickness. The thicker the panels, the larger the load can be withstood.
2. Panel size. The dome is of a rounded shape and the smaller the segments, the larger the load can be withstood.
3. A number of bolts. The more bolts there are, the stronger the structure.
What if heavy snow or a tornado bends the AURA Dome?
You can protect the dome and its contents from strong wind by closing all windows, doors, and any other apertures. During strong winds, doors are best to be locked, so the wind doesn’t break them.
If a hurricane or tornado bent the dome, you can restore the shape by pushing the bent parts into their original position. If there are broken parts, you can identify them in drawings and order new ones.
How to heat it in winter?
We recommend using infrared heaters for heating. Other electric heaters are also suitable.
How to cool in a hot summer weather?
Use fans, air mixers, and air conditioners. We recommend that you search for a supplier of this device in your local market. Local suppliers will provide you with better warranty and post-warranty service.
Is it possible to install a chimney?
Chimney can be installed. We manufacture custom stainless-steel parts. But we don't recommend it, because transparent polycarbonate can get covered with a gray-green film over time. Wood-burning stoves do not have temperature regulation, so there is a risk that the polycarbonate may soften and deform when overheated.
How to fasten the Aura dome to the terrace or foundation?
Aura Dome is a light structure and must be fixed to a foundation or terrace. The door frame must be screwed firmly, otherwise, the door may jam. When installing to an existing wooden terrace, the wooden screw is used. When installing an existing concrete foundation, anchors are used.
When it's not possible to attach to the existing floor (which often happens in the rooftop terrace version), ballasts must be used. A heavy terrace can be used as ballast. Our Quick-install Modular terrace is perfect for use as ballast. We provide the required technology and material needed for fastening your Aura Dome.
Glass Dome
Can I choose the transparency of the glass, the intensity of the mirror, and the color of the glass?
Yes. You can choose more transparent or tinted glass, mirror effect from 10% to 80%. Glass can have greenish, bluish, and brownish shades.
What is the casement window option?
Insulated Glass units are very heavy, so the casement windows are manufactured with an electric drive.
How is the Glass Dome ventilated, heated, and cooled?
Insulated Glass Dome natural ventilation with openable windows is not enough. A forced ventilation system must be installed. The best solution is a recovery system, with the help of which the air in the dome will be changed. Heat recovery ventilation (HRV), also known as mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR), is an energy recovery ventilation system that works between two air sources at different temperatures. Heat recovery is a method that is used to reduce the heating and cooling demands of buildings. By recovering the residual heat in the exhaust gas, the fresh air introduced into the air conditioning system is preheated (pre-cooled) and the fresh air enthalpy is increased (reduced) before the fresh air enters the room or the air cooler of the air conditioning unit performs heat and moisture treatment. Opening windows is not necessary if the dome is equipped with a recovery system.
Insulated Dome
What is included in the Insulated Dome set?
PVC-OSB façade. The façade of the dome is multi-layered. External coating: PVC cover, diffusion film, OSB 18mm board, insulating PIR 50mm. Frame connectors galvanized.
STAR system wooden frame. STAR Classic Zn connectors set. Wood struts. Galvanized screw.
Frame parts are not visible when the frame is covered with panels from the outside and inside. C24 class structural wood is used, and double-layer galvanized STAR connectors. The insulation layer is inside, between interior plywood panels and external OSB panels.
The visible frame parts of the panoramic window are made of ash wood. STAR connectors are stainless steel. There are polycarbonate spacers between the ash wood and the PVC coating.
Insulation: Triangle panels PIR 50mm. Fireproof class B-s1, d0.
FF-PIR thermal insulation panels are made of rigid polyisocyanurate (polyurethane) foam (PIR) core and are covered with multi-layer aluminum foil on both sides.
The extremely low thermal conductivity of these panels (λD = 0.023 W/(mK)) allows the thickness of structures to be reduced by up to 2 times. This not only saves space and usable area on the premises but also reduces the weight of the structure.
Interior finishing: Birch plywood triangular panels are attached to the frame with thin nails. Plywood surface - natural untreated wood. If you want to improve the interior, you can paint or varnish the plywood after installation.
What is the installation process?
We provide instructions and consultation for the installation process. You will need 2-6 installers to install one dome. Simple cordless carpentry tools and scaffold tower. 6 experienced installers can install the dome in 5-6 working days. PVC cover is best installed when the temperature is positive. The warmer it is, the easier it is to install the PVC. Installation of PVC cover is not recommended at temperatures of -5C and below.

What maintenance is required?
No special maintenance is required in warm weather. If you want to wash off dirt, use normal detergents and water. In winter, when there is a lot of snow, snow must be removed from the walls of the dome. Snow can damage the clear PVC cover panoramic window.
What wood is used for Insulated Domes?
We use C24 grade structural calibrated wood. The wood is cut to the right lengths, predrilled for the wood screws. The surface of the wood is natural, planed, unpainted.
What PVC coating is used for Insulated Domes?
The dome PVC cover is welded from the highest quality Serge Ferrari PVC interlining. Fire retardancy M2/B1/ Group1. PVC membrane made in France.
What panoramic window option are there?
A panoramic window made of transparent PVC or Tempered Glass is suitable for use in warmer climates. If your climate zone has a long and cold winter, the Insulated Glass panoramic window will provide better protection from the cold and save energy resources.
